Kimberly Anderwood Hoy, JD, CPC
Director of Medicare and compliance for HCPro, Inc.
Hoy is the director of Medicare and compliance for HCPro, Inc. Hoy is a lead consultant for HCPro’s Revenue Cycle Institute and is the lead instructor for HCPro’s Medicare Boot Camp® – Hospital Version. Hoy is a national expert in Medicare compliance and regulatory issues. She has vast experience conducting billing compliance audits and internal investigations. Hoy has served as a compliance officer and in-house legal counsel for hospitals and has developed and implemented corporate-wide compliance programs for two hospitals. As a hospital compliance officer, Hoy had primary responsibility for HIPAA privacy regulation compliance, including risk assessment, program development, implementation of policies and procedures, and ongoing operations. Hoy regularly provided research and guidance on coding, billing and reimbursement issues for a wide-range of hospital services. She also has expertise in chargemaster operation, development and maintenance.
Shannon McCall, RHIA, CCS, CCS-P, CPC-I, CCDS
Director of coding and HIM at HCPro, Inc.
McCall currently serves as the Director of HIM and Coding for HCPro, Inc. McCall manages the instructors of the Certified Coder Boot Camps,® which cover physician and outpatient hospital coding and inpatient hospital facility coding. As a lead consultant for HCPro’s Revenue Cycle Institute, she works with hospitals, medical practices, and other healthcare providers on a wide range of coding-related issues with a particular focus on coding reviews and audits. McCall has extensive experience with coding for both physician and hospital services.
Jennifer Avery, CCS, CPC, CPC-H, is a consultant for HCPro’s Revenue Cycle Institute where she utilizes her vast experience in both inpatient and outpatient coding by training and auditing facility services. Jennifer serves as an instructor for the Certified Coder Boot Camp® and Certified Coder Boot Camp®–Inpatient Version. Prior to HCPro, she worked as a coding consultant and as a lead coder at a practice management company.
Peggy S. Blue, MPH, CPC, CCS-P, oversaw the development, implementation, dissemination, and reporting of information related to Medicare professional services training efforts for Highmark Medicare Services prior to joining HCPro, Inc. In that capacity Blue has researched, resolved, and responded to issues and inquiries from the physician community in addition to congressional offices, medical societies, and professional associations. Blue has delivered multiple presentations on Medicare legislation. p>
Judith L. Kares, JD, is an expert in Medicare rules and regulations and is an instructor for HCPro’s Medicare Boot Camp-Hospital Version (R). Kares spent a number of years in private law practice, representing hospitals and other health care clients, and then as in-house legal counsel prior to beginning her current legal/consulting practice. She is also an adjunct faculty member at the University of Phoenix, where she teaches courses in business and health care law and ethics.
Debbie Mackaman, RHIA, CHCO, is an instructor for HCPro’s Medicare Boot Camp®-Hospital Version. A former hospital compliance officer and HIM director, Mackaman has more than 18 years of experience in the healthcare industry, including both inpatient and outpatient Prospective Payment Systems (IPPS, OPPS) and Critical Access Hospital (CAH) coding, chargemaster and reimbursement issues.
Diana H. Williams, BS, CPC, CCS-P, CCP, CPMA, is an auditor for HCPro’s Revenue Cycle Institute and an instructor for HCPro’s Certified Coder Boot Camp®. She has more than 23 years experience in coding education, medical insurance, provider management, including coding general surgery, radiology, evaluation and management, transplants, occupational medicine, family practice, pediatric general surgery and pediatric urology.
