CMS will be holding two Special Open Door Forums on RACs for Part A and Part B providers in April, according to the CMS Web site.
CMS will hold the RAC Open Door Forum for Part A providers on April 8 from 2:00-3:30 pm EST. CMS will follow with an Open Door Forum for part B providers the follow week, on April 14 from 2:00-3:30 pm EST. (Note that capacity is limited, so it is advisable to dial in to the call 15 minutes prior to the scheduled start time.)
CMS will use the Special Open Door Forum to provide additional information about the RAC program to providers, as well as introduce them to the new RACs, according to the CMS Web site.

It is a good idea for non-hospital providers to attend one of these formums. For example outpatient physical therapy practices should attend the Part B forum and Rehab Agencies and CORFs should attend the Part A Forum. Why? The Provider Outreach Schedule is being largely facilitated through state Hospital Associations – and if the preliminary round of info sessions last week is any indication, they are only allowing hospital represetative to attend.
It seems that many of our readers are reporting that they experienced difficulties getting on the the April 8 RAC Open Door Forum call. Has anyone else experienced such difficulties or were you able hear the call?
I tried calling in at approximately 1:48. I was on hold for 10 minutes and then informed conference was filled. I think it is important for the providers to attend a conference before the RACS are out in the field. Need to offer more forums.
I agree with Dave, it is so important for people to have access to informational sessions, and to feel as if CMS and the RACs have made the best efforts to ensure that. So far this effort has failed many constituents, and we all need to make our concerns known: to our FIs, MACs and Carriers, as well as to our professional trade associations who have access points within CMS.
Its nice to hear that cms announces RAC Open Door.To know more about it visit http://www.taurusquest.com
