CMS revises reporting form to distinguish between RAC and other appeals

Email This Post Print This Post
In Transmittal 144, released November 28, CMS revised its Monthly Statistical Report on Intermediary and Carrier Part A and Part B Appeals Activity Form (CMS-2592) to capture RAC redetermination data.

Because RAC appeals are funded differently than other types of appeals, CMS is taking steps to track RAC workload and ensure the appropriate use of funding. To do so, CMS will now be distinguishing between RAC appeals from the rest of the appeals workload. The CMS-2592 reporting form required updates to track this data.

The form changes become effective April 1, 2009.
