Diane Farineau

Diane W. Farineau is the director of administration for graduate medical educational and faculty affairs at the University of Virginia Health System in the Department of Medicine. She oversees the administration of the internal medicine residency, clerkship, and fellowship programs as well as faculty development. Prior to this position, Farineau was one of two program coordinators for internal medicine residency.

Before becoming a program coordinator, Farineau was a program director for the Multiple Sclerosis Society, and a program director for the Child Passenger Safety Program at University of Virginia. She has also worked as a political consultant in Washington, DC.

She also wears the mommy and wife hats at home and has two amazing children, 11 and 13. In her free time, she enjoys competitive tennis and has taken up sprint triathlons (just for fun).

She can often be heard at work muttering: “There HAS to be a better way to do this” and “It’s all about the goals and expectations, people!”
