Enter to win free registration to the Residency Program Management Workshop

We know budgets are tight, so, in an effort to make the 4th Annual Residency Program Management Workshop in Atlanta (October 22-23) as accessible for as many people as possible, we’ve decided to hold two drawings each month for free registration to the symposium. You’ll still have to pay for your airfare as well as hotel room, but not the $895 registration fee. Those who have already registered for the conference are not eligible to win.

So, what’s the catch? All that’s required to get into the drawing is that you submit a short description of something you, your program, or institution does to make life easier for GME professionals. It can be anything –a  form or tool you’ve found particularly helpful, a story about the ACGME’s latest visit, a best practice you’d like to share, or an innovative way you educate residents.

The drawings will take place on the first and third Mondays of every month. July’s drawings will be on July 6th and July 20th. Just e-mail your contribution to me at jmccoy@hcpro.com. Responses will be posted on Residency Manager Blog.

Looking forward to seeing you in Atlanta!

Our Geriatric Fellowship program has devised a “rotation review” sign off form which has to be signed off by our fellow and attending faculty after the goals and objectives of the rotation have been discussed. We also make the fellow and attending faculty sign off at the end of the rotation stating the goals and objectives have been met and we are open to discussion at that point from the fellow. Debra

Like a lot of programs, Residents in ours can choose electives in which they rotate to other institutions. This rotation can last for one to six weeks and some times longer. In order for a resident to go, the program coordinator works with the GME office to create an affiliation agreement with the other institution. In order to streamline this process, I created a form that responded to questions required to complete the agreement and shared it with the GME Office. They were very appreciative and told me that they would share it with other coordinators.
