ACGME releases RC Notable Practices

Several program directors and coordinators have told me that their ACGME site visitors have praised their evaluations, pieces of their curriculum, annual review templates, etc and asked for copies of the documents to take with them.

What happens once the site visitor takes those copies back to the RRC? It looks like several of them have become a part of the accreditor’s newest web feature: RC Notable Practices.

The new feature allows you to search for tools by category or specialty. Resource categories include:

  • Competency assessment tools
  • Internal review protocols
  • Faculty development resources
  • Annual program evaluations
  • Goals and objectives
  • Model curricula

While not every specialty is represented yet, you can definitely use the information and examples to influence your own tools. I also expect that the ACGME will continue to add to this database over time.

Has anyone used this online database yet? Tell us about it? Was it helpful? Leave a comment below.
