Quick tips for ADS pain points
ADS is a double-edged sword. It’s a great way to easily communicate information to the ACGME, but many coordinators say it’s not the most user-friendly system.
That may be why Rebecca Miller, ACGME VP of Applications and Data Analysis gave a presentation entitled, “Accreditation Database System (ADS) 2009 Update”.
Miller described some new features of ADS, including:
- New options for printing the PIF that allow you to sort by faculty or participating sites and allow you to either print an HTML or PDF version
- New interface for updating the faculty roster, which allows you to view the roster sorted in several different ways and easily see what information is missing
- New interface for CVs
There are also a slew of tutorials in ADs under the Tools/Reference tab, which can make using the site much easier. Check them out: they cover everything from PIF preparation to the Resident Survey.
One coordinator I spoke with said this was the most helpful sessions she went at the conference!
