Get involved: Working group established to revise the scramble

Jeri Whitten, C-TAGME provided me the following information as follow up to the column she wrote in yesterday’s issue of Residency Program Connection regarding the scramble.

According to the American Association of Medical Colleges’ STAT newsletter, the NRMP and AAMC are currently seeking input from program directors on a plan that would revise the Match Week schedule and require unfilled programs and unmatched applicants to offer and accept positions through an electronic system hosted by the NRMP. The organizations anticipate launching this new system in March 2011.
