the main infraction we sometimes see are open toed sandels in patient care areas by staff that do not do too much hands on care but are still expected to wear closed toed shoes. We have a dress code that managers must enforce and except for an occasional announced “casual Friday” where jeans or denim skirts are allowed, dress is always expected to be professional or in the uniform of the department. It helped when we standardized scrubs according to role about five years ago.
