Should Fed funding for patient safety go bye-bye?

A House subcommittee, on July 18, voted to eliminate all funding for the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ).

As one of 12 agencies within HHS, AHRQ funds and conducts research in patient-centered outcomes, health information technology, safety, and quality. The agency had requested $408.8 million for Fiscal Year 2013.
