Preventing infections in dialysis settings is the topic of a new online course offered by the CDC.

The CDC designed the course for outpatient hemodialysis healthcare workers, including technicians and nurses, to ensure that CDC infection prevention recommendations are implemented.

The 1-hour self-guided training course features a flash-based slide presentation and audio narration. The course reviews the following topic areas:

  • Infections that patients can get from dialysis
  • Infection control recommendations for outpatient hemodialysis healthcare workers, and
  • Educating your patients and their caregivers.

The CDC course is free and provides CNE and CEU credit.
