Making the case for nurses getting flu shots

By: December 20th, 2011 Email This Post Print This Post

A free, five-minute video makes a compelling case for nurses to receive the influenza vaccination.

The Immunization Action Coalition has selected “Nurse-to-Nurse Influenza Vaccine Safety Video” as its video of the week.

Produced by the American Nurses Association (ANA), the video uses risk communication principles to address nurses who are hesitant to receive a flu shot.

The video is on the IAC home page. It will be available there until January 1, 2o12, or you may access it anytime by going to the IAC video of the week archive web page.

The ANA also has “Nurses Have the Power to Protect,” a public service announcement reminding nurses and the public to stay up-to-date with immunizations to prevent disease outbreaks such as seasonal influenza and Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis).
