OSHA wants workplace chemical concern input
When it was first established in 1970, OSHA adopted permissible exposure limits (PELs) for chemicals in the workplace based on industry consensus. Since then many PELs have remained unchanged, according to the agency.
That is why OSHA is hosting Web Forum to identify hazardous chemicals most in need of agency action.
Stakeholders are encouraged to identify those chemicals with inadequate PELs or hazardous chemicals for which OSHA has no standards.
