Ask the expert: Exam room cleaning log

By: David LaHoda September 29th, 2009 Email This Post Print This Post

Q: Must my medical practice keep a log of when exam rooms are cleaned?

A: No, but you do need to have a housekeeping schedule as part of your exposure control plan that states when and how work surfaces are decontaminated, according to section 1910.1030(d)(4)(i) of the bloodborne pathogens standard.

Download a Sample Cleaning and Disinfection Schedule from the Tools page of the OSHA Healthcare Advisor.
