This is a question regarding a new employee that is 15 yrs old until Sept. 2009. She is supposed to work in Dietary at our hospital and I was wondering if there were guidelines to follow of what she can and can’t do because of her age.
Thanks
A good place to start is the employer responsibility page on the OSHA teen worker Web site. It identifies and provides links to federal and state regulations regarding teen workers. Also, see Prohibited Occupations for Non-Agricultural Employees for a list of job duties that 14- and 15-year olds may not perform. Some of them do apply to the work duties you describe.
