Finding metrics for preparedness

OSHA Healthcare Advisor blogger Steve MacArthur presents some cogent observations on the need to be able to measure preparedness if healthcare facilities want to manage and improve responses to emergencies such as the current influenza A (H1N1) pandemic.

His remarks  appear in his hospital safety blog, Mac’s Safety Space, “A call to arms with emergency preparedness.”

In addition to hospitals, other healthcare settings such as medical and dental practices, clinics, and long-term care facilities could take this current pandemic opportunity to define and analyze preparedness in preparation for the next emergency.
