The updated Pay-Roll Based Journal (PBJ) Policy Manual has been released and can be downloaded here. This document provides general background and information about submission requirements, such as sample submission screens, submission deadlines, and definitions of job categories.
A PBJ Policy Manual Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document and PBJ Summary Presentation from June 10, 2016 have also been added to CMS’ PBJ webpage for download.
Updates to the FAQ document and policy manual are highlighted in red text. Updates to the manual include:
- Clarification that facilities need to check the Final File Validation Report once the final data file is uploaded to verify that the data was successfully submitted. This can be accessed in facilities’ CASPER folder. Facilities are reminded to allow for time to correct any errors and resubmit, as it may take up to 24 hours to receive the validation report.
- Further clarification that reporting the hire and termination dates are optional.
- The following positions are now considered optional for recording in the PBJ system:
- Vocational Services Workers
Reminder: Data from January 1 – March 31, 2017 must be submitted by May 15.
