My thoughts on this topic are as follows.
While many of the changes that are occurring seem to place more work on less people they are put in place for the good of the people we administer care to/for. I believe overall it is what is best for the health care delivery system as well as our pocketbooks. One area that needs work is the minimum number of employees giving care. In today’s society I believe we need to increase the number of direct care staff and stop counting the administrative staff. When counting the administrative staff there is a false impression of available staff caring for residents. No one likes change but, like always, we adapt and soon realize the benefits and we forget why we were against the change.
