April form of the month: Guide to SNF beneficiary notifications

SNF beneficiary notices are confusing. Determining whether to issue a SNF advanced beneficiary notice (ABN) or denial letter, an ABN for Medicare Part B services, an expedited determination notice, or some combination of these forms can befuddle even the most savvy long-term care professionals.

To help long-term care professionals make sense of these notices, we’re offering a free guide to SNF beneficiary notifications at MDSCentral this month. The guide, which ran in the February issue of PPS Alert for Long-Term Care, identifies several different scenarios and explains when to use ABNs and expedited determination notices. You can find the guide under the Forms section on our Resources page.
